
Congratulate your competitors and teammates on their successes (shake hands, “Good Job,” “Congratulations, nice swim”) regardless of your performance.
Never ever throw your goggles.
Always take two pairs of goggles and two caps to the blocks (in case you, your teammate, or competitor breaks for rips theirs moments before the race).
Thank officials and timers at each meet.
Open and hold doors for others.
Everyone helps with lane lines.
Tell your parents that you love them after each practice and meet (that’ll never get old).
Before you leave a meet, pick up garbage around our area whether it’s yours or not.
Be prepared to count for swimmers on our team or another team for distance events.
Be excited and optimistic about swimming longer events (they may be your best event).
Bring water bottle to practice and stay hydrated.
Be on time…for practice, meets, school, class, curfew, etc…

Lead the lane at least once per week.
Improve all four strokes.
Don’t ever be satisfied with your technique, there’s always something to improve.
Core strength lasts longest.
Maximize use of momentum, go hard in and out off walls.
